O! rather say, amazed, let me stand
Submissive ― a poor, sinful child of Him
At whose omnipotent and dread command
Came forth the waters ― and the cherubim.
Pray Him, that o'er thy soul he may not bring
The bitter waters, that destructive prove;
But ask in faith of Him, thy Sovereign King,
To drink the living waters of His love.
